I named this painting for George Van Grieken who commissioned the piece. He is one of the esteemed Christian Brothers of the Mt. LaSalle winery in the Napa Valley. My favorite part of this painting is the way the sunlight bounces off the wave face. You'll notice that the reflections have reflections. The place is the blowhole (visible upper left) near Carlevaro Road on the Sonoma coast.
