Because it faces south, Doran Beach usually has the calmest waters along the entire Sonoma coast. It is sheltered from the huge North Pacific swells by the peninsula that forms Bodega Bay. As you walk east along the beach, the waves get more and more powerful. This view depicts the very far end of the beach. Beyond this point the coast becomes inaccessible until Dillon Beach in Marin County. In the distance you can see Tomales Point which is part of the Point Reyes National Seashore.18”x 24” oil on canvas. Christopher Queen Galleries. Sold
